In keeping with the New Education Policy 2020, this academic year, CBSE has introduced the MCQ methodology of evaluation of student learning. Multiple Choice Questions is a modern, yet time-tested,way of evaluating student learning. It keeps Bloom’s taxonomy at the center; yet, allows the examiner to test 21st -century skills, such as, problem-solving, decision-making, creativity, and so on.
More than 700 teachers and principals of several schools attended the Teachers’ Training Workshop for Sankalp Sahodaya on September 25, 2021 on the topic ‘The Art and Science of MCQ Creation’. The workshop was conducted by Career Launcher (CL), the EdTech arm of CL Educate; and coordinated byMs Neha Wahi, Head of Capacity Building vertical at CL.
The workshop was in-depth and exhaustive; with Shiva Kumar, a veteran of 25 years and Director of Academics at CL, leading the session. "Shiva Kumar sir demonstrated knowledge, experience, and great communication skills to hold our attention. His detailed slides, examples, along with structured approach ensured that there was not a dull moment for me", said Soni Srivasatava, a senior PGT in English. The workshop also included break-out sessions for each of the key subjects, conducted by the relevant subject-matter experts.
In the inaugural address, Sujatha Kshirsagar, Chief Business Officer of CL, shared the perspective of the changing education landscape; and also spoke about the imperatives for a school, basis the New Education Policy.
